The perfect diner, great food, great service and little to no wait! My husband will go out of his way to end up here for breakfast just so he can have the home fries !
This is a good diner. I came here while a family member had a doctors appointment hoping to kill sometime. Well that didn’t happen but in good way. I got seated at my table and asked if I wanted coffee. I said I did and I’m pretty sure it showed up magically in like 10 seconds. Asked if I needed more time I said no and ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. In less than 5 minutes I had my order hot and ready. The meal was great, everything I expected. My coffee never emptied until I refused more. The staff was great and you could tell they knew their regulars - calling them by name, asking about other family members, etc. I didn’t kill nearly enough time but it’s nothing I’d ever complain about! A plus plus establishment. Well worth a stop in.
Billy's Homestead is one of those special places. The kind of place that makes you feel like you just stepped into your best friend's mom's house and she greets you with a hot plate of food and a hug. Wonderful service. Friendly atmosphere. Amazingly consistent and delicious food.
UPDATE: went in alone tonight for some dinner. They had a ton of specials with a huge variety, plus, still listed some breakfast specials which I assume they will still serve in the evening. I always like to try something different. I asked the wait staff about foods I wasn't familiar with such as The Pljeskavice Burger. Homemade beef and veal patty with spices. Definitely different but I wanted something other than a burger. So many good looking choices it was hard to decide. I ended up ordering the Cevapi Sausage. Beef and veal sausage with chopped onions, sour cream and Ajvar sauce on pita that was made to be their own with a touch of oil & spices. Made for a soft, somewhat doughy, tasty pita that was a nice contrast. I loaded up everything inside the pita. I had to force myself not to eat the whole portion because I probably would have exploded. Nice size portions. Ordered a side of corn. I would love to go back here more often and try some of the other things they have. Go try this place. Whether it be for the standard fare or for something slightly different that is extremely tasty. Morning it's typically busy with people sitting around eating and drinking coffee and talking for quite a while. This is not one of diners that you rush in, rush out. Staff was very friendly and stopped to check on me numerous times. They weren't very busy but still they made the effort to check on me and see if I enjoyed it. Between that and the help making a decision on what to eat was greatly appreciated. All the ratings stay the same just adding some photos from today. Somewhat noisy when it is very busy because it's a small place. Waitress was very good at making sure we got everything we wanted. Food came out very quickly. Food was hot and was very tasty. I tried something new. Eggplant eggs Benedict. It was really tasty. Reasonably priced for good food.
My friends love this place, I've always been "Meh" to it. Today was no different. Our table was forgotten about once we sat down for a good 20 minutes. It wasn't slammed, but busy. No big deal there. The waitress was very apologetic and very on point after that little confusion. But, knocking a star off the "Service" rating since it took so long for anyone to acknowledge us after they pushed tables together and sat us. I had the corned beef hash, the two eggs were good, the hash was a very small amount, and very flat, like I've never seen CBH so flat. Plus side was it had a decent flavor and was nice and crispy. But, it didn't come with toast? I have never seen the dish anywhere else not come with it. Added it on for almost three dollars. My wife said that her wrap was just okay as well. But her home fries were mush. So that was disappointing and she didn't finish them. The kids pancakes and French Toast were good. Hard to mess those up. And our other friend that was with us like his omelet. But didn't offer much more detail. Very meh overall. Nothing horrible, just not great.
This is a wonderful eatery. Very friendly staff. Not expensive. Tasty comfort food. The food is worth a return trip! It gets busy, so you might wait. 6/6/21: It was nice to eat here again. The workers are always so nice, & the food is quite tasty. My friends & I ate here in June, 2021. It's always an enjoyable time, with friendly efficient staff & tasty food that is not expensive. 1/9/22: I like this diner so much. The lady waitress remembered me from my last visit. The food is always great.
It’s definitely a lot of food for a great price! It was also delicious. Service is good. Normally, they do a really great job. I’ve been multiple times and tend to dive into my food before taking pics.
